This preliminary document, outlining a new specialized charter high school for Seattle, was developed by three seasoned school developers with teaching backgrounds in the arts and individual expertise in school administration, Career + Technical Education (CTE) partnerships and high school curriculum:
PAMELA BELYEA, Administrative Lead: Belyea is a nonprofit administrator who co-founded and led Gage Academy of Art, a nationally-recognized art academy, for two decades. Her institution-building strengths lie in crafting and implementing visionary arts programs, strategic and facility planning, and fund development. Belyea completed an M.Ed. in Educational Administration, a leadership-focused program for school principals, from Western Washington University. A licensed architect, she also received a B.Arch. from The Cooper Union in New York. CLIVE LISSAMAN, CTE Lead: Working in Seattle and London, Lissaman has more than 15 years of developing and implementing arts education programs. In 2010, he developed the Creative Media Diploma Programme which set national standards for work-related learning in the arts in the United Kingdom. Lissaman received his MA in Teaching and Visual Culture from Middlesex University and has taught at the City of Westminster College. Since immigrating to Seattle, Lissaman has worked in the Education Departments of Gage Academy of Art and the Frye Art Museum in Seattle. ELLEN TAUSSIG, Curricular Lead: Taussig is a professional educator with more than 40 years’ experience in secondary education as a teacher, Head of School and co-founder of two college preparatory schools, Northwest School in Seattle and International Leadership Academy of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa. Taussig has served on the Committee for State Graduation Requirements and the Washington Higher Education Finance Authority. Taussig holds an MAT from Yale University. >Next: Contact Form |
